New England Magazine is first published.

It is published by E.R. Broaders from offices at today’s 30 School Street (then 10 School Street). Joseph Buckingham is the first editor. Contributors include Holmes, Longfellow, and Whittier. It is absorbed by the American Monthly Magazine of New York in 1835.
